THE NORTHEAST NEBRASKA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICANRED CROSS
The Northeast Nebraska Chapter of the American Red Cross provides a variety of classes for group or individual needs. Workplace classes are available which benefit both the employer and the participants. Below we have listed the classes available through this chapter. If you have questions regarding any of the classes, please contact us.
We have many qualified instructors who provide a great service to their communities and are available to other areas upon request.

*CPR InstructorThe American Red Cross CPR Training is in compliance with American Heart Association standards. It teaches you what to do in an emergency situation. You will learn to recognize and care for breathing and heart emergencies. Participants who complete the skills and written tests successfully will receive a one-year certificate.
Standard First Aid Community First Aid & Safety
The American Red Cross First Aid Basics is in compliance with OSHA standards. It teaches you to care for cuts, scrapes and bruises. Learn how to treat shock; burns, bone injuries, injuries to muscles and joints, sudden illnesses including poisoning, heat and cold emergencies. Prior CPR training is not required. Participants who complete the skills and written tests successfully will receive a 3-year certificate.
We also conduct Review Training or Challenges.
Babysitters' Training
For youngsters who are interested in infant and child care. Prepares you with the training every parent wants in a babysitter, including safety, basic childcare, safe play, first aid and emergency action.

Disaster Classes Introduction to Disaster Services
The purpose of this video-based course is to provide fundamental information abut disasters, the community response, and the role of the Red Cross Disaster Services..
NOTE: This is a prerequisite for all other disaster courses.Damage Assessment I
The purpose of this course is to prepare Red Cross paid and volunteer staff to serve as Damage Assessment workers to obtain and report damage assessment information and provide operational support on disaster relief operations.
Emergency Family Services
The purpose of this course is to enable Red Cross paid and volunteer staff and representatives of other community agencies to meet the emergency needs of families on an individual basis following a disaster.
Shelter Operations
The purpose of this class is to prepare Red Cross and other agencies' staff to effectively and sensitively manage shelter operations as a team and to meet the needs of people displaced as a result of a disaster.
Shelter Simulations
The purpose of this class is to provide participants with an opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills needed to run a successful shelter operation. Participants work in teams to open, operate and close a typical shelter operation.
Human Resources in Disaster
The purpose of this training is to provide basic information about the activities and processes of the Local Disaster Volunteers, Staffing, and Training functions in support of an American Red Cross disaster relief operation. Participants will learn how to deliver and support sufficient and effective human resources on a disaster relief operation.
Disaster Welfare Information
The purpose of this training is to prepare participants to handle Disaster Welfare Information in their local chapters. Participants will learn how to provide effective service, transmit an inquiry to the Disaster Welfare Information function on a disaster relief operation, and conduct follow-up to ensure that the inquirer's needs are met.
Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism: An Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide basic information about the issues and safety concerns in performing our work in an environment involving a Weapons of Mass Destruction and/or Terrorism (WMD/T) incident. Participants will learn about the skills, abilities, and knowledge needed by disaster workers performing duties in this environment.
Records and Reports I
This course prepares Red Cross paid and volunteer staff to work within the Records & Reports function in a disaster environment. This course will provide the worker with the tools to perform the Records & Reports activities that support other functions as well as co-workers on a Red Cross disaster relief operation.
Emergency Operations Center (Liaison)
Prepares participants to build and maintain collaborative relationships designed to enhance the community's ability to respond to disaster.
Logistics: An Overview
The purpose of this training is to provide basic information about the activities and processes of the Logistics function in support of an American Red Cross disaster relief operation. Participants will learn about the skills, abilities, and knowledge needed by Logistics workers and how they can get started in their local chapter.
Mass Care Overview
Provides participants with basic information about the activities of the Red Cross Mass Care function on a disaster operation. Participants will learn about the skills and abilities needed by Mass Care workers and how they can get started in their local chapter.
