The Northeast Nebraska
Chapter of the American Red Cross began in 1917. The Chapter serves the counties of Cedar, Cuming, Dixon, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, Thurston and Wayne. 
  Wayne, Nebraska, is a college community of approximately 5,000 located 45 miles southwest of Sioux City, Iowa.  The American Red Cross plays a vital part in this small corner of Northeast Nebraska.
Mission of the American Red Cross:  The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.  It does this through services that are consistent with its Congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross movement.
